Plans to introduce a new banking hub in Sandbach have been welcomed locally, following the closure of several high street bank branches in recent years.
The hub, which will be delivered by Cash Access UK, is expected to restore access to face-to-face banking services for residents and support local businesses that still rely on in-person transactions and cash services.
Local campaigner Sean Houlston, Deputy Chairman of the Congleton Constituency Conservatives which covers Sandbach and a former MP candidate with a strong background in business, has now launched a short survey asking residents and businesses where the hub should be located and what services it should provide. He says he wants to help ensure the hub works properly for both residents and the town’s high street.
Sean Houlston said:
“This is great news for Sandbach after losing several banks in recent years. I’m encouraging residents to share where the hub should be located and what services they want to see so we secure the best possible outcome for the town.”
The survey also invites suggestions for suitable vacant shopfronts that could host the facility, helping ensure the hub is positioned where it will benefit the town centre most.
Once the survey closes, Sean will write to Cash Access UK with the results to ensure local views help shape the final location and services provided by the hub.
