Plans for a brand-new Leighton Hospital are now open for public consultation, marking a major step forward for healthcare in Cheshire.
The proposed “Hospital 2.0” project would see a modern six-storey hospital built to the north of the current site, alongside a new Ambulatory Cancer Care Centre, improved access routes, and expanded parking facilities. The Trust says the new design will deliver greener, more efficient services built around patients and staff.

Residents are being encouraged to share their views before the planning application is submitted later this year. Consultation events are being held across Crewe, with full details and feedback forms available at healthierfutures.mcht.nhs.uk.
Sean Houlston attended one of the consultation sessions in Crewe to learn more about the proposals and to share the views of local residents.
“Leighton Hospital plays a vital role in our community, and it’s important that local voices are heard as plans for its future take shape,” said Sean. “This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to get the design right — one that meets the needs of patients, staff, and families across Cheshire for decades to come.”
