Sean Houlston was invited to speak at the KPMG Construction Leaders Roundtable, where some of the sector’s most senior figures came together to discuss the future of the industry.
In his remarks, Sean outlined four key areas currently shaping construction:
- People & Skills – how the sector attracts, retains, and upskills its workforce.
- Legislation – the impact of the Building Safety Act and the Employment Rights Bill.
- Environment – embedding sustainability and carbon literacy across all businesses.
- Technology – demystifying digital tools and ensuring adoption benefits the whole industry.
Speaking after the roundtable, Sean said:
“It was inspiring to engage with the top leaders in construction and the wider supply chain who are shaping our future. Hearing first-hand about the projects being delivered, and the challenges still to be overcome, gives a clear picture of the scale of ambition and innovation in our sector.
"Conversations like these remind us that collaboration is vital – across contractors, suppliers, educators, and policymakers – if we are to solve the next set of problems and unlock the opportunities ahead.”
