During National Apprenticeship Week, Sean Houlston spoke to nominees and attendees at Reaseheath College’s Apprenticeship Awards, highlighting the vital role of apprenticeships in addressing skills gaps and building a resilient workforce.
Speaking at the awards, Sean praised the college’s efforts in equipping apprentices with industry-relevant skills and creating opportunities for career growth.
“We support this award because apprenticeships are the backbone of a skilled workforce,” Sean stated. “They must be empowered and expanded nationally, just as Reaseheath is doing, to help businesses upskill and grow. Investing in apprenticeships is an investment in our future workforce, ensuring sustainable economic growth and industry innovation.”
Sean applauded the dedication of all nominees, celebrating their achievements and recognising the positive impact apprentices bring to their workplaces.
The event was also attended by Aphra Brandreth, Member of Parliament for Chester South and Eddisbury, who was the guest of honour. Sean took the opportunity to raise key apprenticeship issues with her, reinforcing the need for continued business support and investment in apprenticeship programmes.
