Sean Houlston has been elected Chairman of Congleton Conservative Association following the Association's Annual General Meeting.
Sean brings a wide range of political, business and community experience to the role, having previously served as a Parliamentary Candidate, Deputy Chairman of the Association, college governor, trustee and senior leader within a national business body.
Sean believes strongly in aspiration, personal responsibility, strong families, thriving communities and creating opportunities for people to succeed through hard work and determination.
As Chairman, Sean has set out an ambitious plan to strengthen and modernise the Association. His priorities include growing membership, developing the next generation of Conservative activists, improving fundraising, expanding year-round campaigning activity and building a stronger presence across every community within the constituency. These priorities form part of a wider strategy to create a more active, professional and election-focused organisation.
The coming year will be one of the busiest and most important in recent memory for local Conservatives. A key priority will be supporting Ben Fletcher's campaign to become the first Mayor of Cheshire and Warrington. Alongside this, the Association will be working to win back control of Cheshire East Council by regaining seats previously held by Conservatives and rebuilding Conservative representation across local town and parish councils.
Sean believes that success will come through sustained community engagement, visible local campaigning and ensuring Conservative voices are heard on the issues that matter most to residents.
Commenting on his election, Sean said:
"I am honoured to have been elected Chairman of Congleton Conservative Association and grateful to members for placing their trust in me. We have a strong foundation to build upon, but there is much work to do.
"Over the coming months we will focus on growing our membership, strengthening our campaigning operation and reconnecting with communities across the constituency. We have important elections ahead of us and I am determined that we will be ready to meet that challenge.
"Together, we will deliver Conservative victories across Cheshire East and Cheshire and Warrington."
