Sean Houlston has highlighted the growing importance of skills, training and regional investment following a visit to Reaseheath College for the Principal’s Lunch and Family Day.
Sean, who serves as a Governor at Reaseheath College and Chair of the Curriculum, Skills and Stakeholders Committee, said the event provided an important opportunity to engage with leaders from across Cheshire at a time of significant economic and political change.
Discussions focused on the future of the region, including skills, food production, innovation and the challenges facing British agriculture and rural communities as devolution accelerates.
Sean Houlston said:
“It was a pleasure to be invited to the Reaseheath Principal’s Lunch alongside leaders from across Cheshire before joining the Family Day later in the day.
"With devolution accelerating and growing pressure on Cheshire’s agriculture, farms and food production, investing in skills has never mattered more.
"Whether it is modern farming, engineering, construction, food security or digital technology, Cheshire has huge potential, but we need to ensure we are developing the skilled workforce capable of driving that growth forward.”
