Sean Houlston has called for stronger backing for British businesses following discussions in Parliament on the challenges facing industry, infrastructure and economic growth.
Meeting with Gareth Davies, Sean discussed the pressures currently facing businesses across sectors including construction, infrastructure and manufacturing, alongside wider concerns around skills shortages, bureaucracy and delivery delays.
Sean said Britain must become more focused on supporting the businesses responsible for building homes, infrastructure and economic growth.
Sean Houlston said:
“If Britain is serious about growth, we need to start backing the businesses that actually build it.
"Last week, I was in Parliament with Shadow Business Minister Gareth Davies MP to discuss quangos, skills shortages, infrastructure delivery and the pressures facing businesses.
"Too often, businesses are being held back by delays, overcomplication and rising costs at a time when the country should be focused on getting Britain building, investing and growing again.”
Sean added that tackling skills shortages, improving infrastructure delivery and reducing unnecessary bureaucracy would be essential if the UK is to remain competitive and unlock long-term economic growth.
