On Monday 19th May, Sean Houlston organised and opened a high-profile event at the House of Commons focused on “Growth Through Construction,” in collaboration with the National Federation of Builders (NFB) and the National Access and Scaffolding Confederation (NASC).
The event brought together senior industry leaders, parliamentarians and policymakers to spotlight the urgent need for skills in the construction sector. With infrastructure projects and housing delivery under pressure, the conversation centred on practical reforms to support both short-term demand and long-term workforce development.
Notable speakers included Florence Eshalomi MP, Chair of the Housing, Communities, and Local Government Committee; Eddie Hughes MP, former Housing Minister; and Kevin Hollinrake MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.
The event served as a platform to champion the sector, challenge barriers to growth, and promote industry-led solutions to policy makers at the heart of government.
