Sean Houlston is the Conservative candidate for the new Sandbach East & Central ward at the 2027 Cheshire East Council elections, standing alongside his running mate, Cllr Tim Wheatcroft.
Following the Local Government Boundary Commission's review, the new Sandbach East & Central ward will be introduced for the 2027 elections. The ward will be represented by two Cheshire East councillors instead of one, giving residents greater representation, increased capacity to deal with local issues and a stronger voice at the council.
Sean believes that local representatives should earn the trust of residents long before polling day. That is why he has already been working across the new ward, listening to residents, raising concerns with Cheshire East Council and campaigning on the issues that matter most to local people.

Sean's approach is simple. Local politics should be about getting things done, standing up for residents and holding the council to account.
Since becoming the Conservative candidate, he has been actively involved in a wide range of local campaigns and community issues, including:
- Campaigning for improved road safety and clearer signage on Congleton Road.
- Supporting efforts to improve safety at Sandbach Heath crossing.
- Challenging Cheshire East Council over proposed changes to waste and recycling collections while ensuring residents' views are heard.
- Speaking up for residents on planning matters and calling for a planning system that is transparent, accountable and delivers infrastructure before development.
- Opposing unnecessary council tax increases while campaigning for better value and improved public services.
- Supporting campaigns to protect Sandbach's heritage, including the town's historic landmarks and war memorial.
